Preparation & drainage

When is the best time to lay natural turf?
Turf can be laid almost year-round in Melbourne. Autumn and spring establish fastest; summer laying works with disciplined watering, and winter simply takes a little longer to knit down.
How long until I can walk on a new lawn?
Keep traffic off for around two to three weeks while the roots take hold, then introduce normal use gradually. We'll give you specific guidance for your variety and season.
How much should I water new turf?
Daily watering for the first couple of weeks is typical, tapering off as the roots establish. We leave you simple instructions matched to the season.
Can you remove my old lawn first?
